I have been tagged!

I have been tagged, by Julie to post 8 random facts. First, before the post, you must know the rules: (1) Each participant posts eight random facts about themselves. (2) Tagees should write a blogpost of eight random facts about themselves. (3) At the end of the post, eight more bloggers are tagged. Go to their blog and leave a comment telling them they're tagged.

8 Random Facts About me:

1. I am a candy-a-holic. Yup....I am! But, I am not a chocolate girl, since it knocks me out like a sucker punch. I like candies like sprees, bottle caps, and skittles. I used to have 2 supplies in my classroom - one for me and one for the kids. Unfortunately (although my dentist is cheering), I have had to cut back almost all together on candy because of all the problems I have been having. Now, I know what you're thinking - I have had the problems because the candy. While I believe it didn't help, its not the reason.

2. I had a huge crush on one of my college professors. I had several classes with him, was his TA (Teaching Assistant), and even went to a Grateful Dead concert with him at the Boston Garden. I am so not a fan of the Grateful Dead (sorry DeadHeads), but I didn't care - I got to go with him. **sigh**

3. Although I like watching movies, I can't stand going to the movie theater. I am a renter-girl. In fact, (I can't believe I am about to say this) the last movie I went to see in the theater was The Longest Yard (the remake with Adam Sandler). And, the only reason I went is because my "date" wanted to see it. Bad - I know!

4. Lotion and massages totally give me the willies. Now, please know I do have bottles of lotion myself - but I have to put it on. For instance, when I go to get a pedicure, its feet only - no lotion - no leg massage, etc. And as far as body massages - yikes - no way...ugh! People say massage and I want to run.

5. My first career was (supposed to be) in Advertising. After undergrad, I had a short gig at a small direct marketing shop outside DC. After the company lost the account for which I was hired 3 months later, I was laid off. So, I moved to NYC to work for Y&R. I loved the job, but I unfortunately worked for 5 Sr. VPs who sucked every positive thing out of the day. So, I quit (realizing now they did me a favor) and decided not to continue in the field. I still love looking at ads in all mediums, and often wonder where I'd be had I not switched gears.

6. I have moved 11 times since 1994. My last apartment was the longest place I remained - where I was for 4 years. I am in my house now....so I am not going anywhere for some time.

7. As I mentioned in yesterday's post, my recent European vacation will go down as one of the most amazing times in my life. But before Europe, my most memorable time was when I swam with the dolphins in the Bahamas.

A few years ago, I worked part time for a radio broadcasting company as one of the national promotions coordinators. We we were in Nassau on a promotions trip/meet-n-greet with Rascal Flats and some other girl I can't remember - Coley someone? Before the radio trip winners arrived one day, the staff had a free morning. I was the only one who didn't want to swim with the sting rays. So, I went by myself to swim with the dolphins and it turned out to be a phenomenal experience. I have it on tape somewhere. But, don't ask. No one will be witness to me in a bathing suit!

8. The first baby who didn't cry when I held her in my arms was 7 years ago. My eldest niece just coo'd and coo'd when I held her...and this tough ol' bird became mush. (Better late than never, I suppose!)

I tag the following foodies and friends (just 5 - ahhh...I am breaking the rules...sorry!)

The massage comments were fun. I'm the opposite. I'll pay anybody to touch me. Wait. I don't think that came out right...

My husband would totally agree with you about the movies. I like the theater and being home but I get where you're coming from.
