The combination of tasty sushi and a From Our Kitchen blog event, Food Destination #5, prompted this posting...
Village Sushi & Gourmet
Smyrna Market Village
W Spring St SE
Smyrna, GA 30080
A couple of weeks ago, I posted about a not-so-tasty sushi outting with my friend, experienced at our regular sushi joint. As I mentioned some yummy establishments in the post, I failed to mention a great little place, Village Sushi & Gourmet (no website! boo!).
As attempts (in Atlanta) are made to bring the city into the burbs, "they" are developing little villages like Smyrna Market Village - mini Atlantic Station type areas. In response, several really wonderful eateries are opening and it is wonderful to know I don't have to drive into town for tasty sushi.
The new "Market Village" in the heart of our city, opened in October of 2002, is unmatched in appeal and village atmosphere. Pedestrian oriented with an emphasisThe Village Sushi & Gourmet is fast becoming a regular lunch spot for my fabuolous friend and I. We were recognized upon entering, as Sharon and I were ushered to the same table we sat last time. Then, we respectively "parked" in the same exact seats! Therefore, we have now labeled the 4-top by the window "our" table. What's cool is we can see Sharon and Jim's place across the street from that very table! And, if we get the same young lady as our server next time... again...she too will be assigned our personal hostess with the mostess as well! ha ha ha!
on streetscapes, landscaping and openness, the Market Village features 16 townhomes over 40,000 square feet of retail space, 18,000 square feet of office space and seven restaurants.
Sharon ordered the California Roll, on which she added a tabble of wasabi and slices of pickled ginger.
I ordered my regular - super crunch roll. I just love it and know I can't go wrong. I promise I will begin be more adventurous (Step 12)....soon. I just have to order it without roe - eeeewy.
Village Sushi & Gourmet - Love ya!

Great Restaurant!! Thanks for the fun time!
The new place I work at, has an amazing Raw Bar with the best sushi I ever had in my entire life. You should come to Chicago and visit me - I bet you would love the sushi!
Village Sushi and Gourmet has THE BEST sushi I have ever had in my life. I travel frequently and have never had more delicious sushi. The Special Volcano Roll is to die for. I am there at least once a week. Like Chris, my husband and I are recognized, and we don't even have to order. They know what we want the second we walk through the door. You are missing out on some wonderful food if you let a visit slip by.
